London, day 2

Found the contiki basement this morning, then tried to get an international sim card for my phone, but failed.

Then headed off to Hyde Park for lunch, had wonderful cauliflower soup, and more tea. Then I headed off to the wellington arch and joined a free walking tour, then proceeded to walk for about 3 hrs, seeing things like traffic lights set up for horses,

and hearing about how queen Victoria's assassins were very bad aims, there were 8 failed assassinations altogether. Seeing the palaces (and guardsmen) and westminster abbey and big Ben,

finishing off with the tale of guy fawlkes and the deaths of the conspirators, before heading off to a pub to finish off with a discounted dinner.
A group of us, 3 Aussies, and an Irishman, from the tour talked for a while over an early dinner, smoked haddock fish cakes (also wonderful), before I headed back to the hostel, finished packing up ready to head to wales the next morning and crashed at 8pm. However jet lag kicked in and I woke up just after midnight, and gave up on trying to sleep at about 6am.
